Strong and harsh sunlight can literally burn the skin if you stay three to five hours continuously under the hot sun.
The skin becomes dry and red and very sore. The skin also feels very warm and tender to the touch. Peeling or flaking usually begins four to seven days after exposure. Severe sunburn can cause fever, chills, blistering, exhaustion and swelling of the skin. People with pale skin are more liable to sunburn than people with darker skin. Aloe vera has so many therapeutic uses that it is always a good idea to grow this amazing plant in your garden or in a pot to have it always handy. Remove the gel from a fresh aloe vera leaf and rub it on the red skin for five to ten minutes.
The cool gel will instantly calm the irritated skin and bring tremendous relief in the pain. Keep applying the gel every few hours to get rid of the sunburn.
Brew some black tea and put it in the refrigerator to chill. Take a soft cotton swab and dip it into the cold tea. Swab the affected areas with the tea for ten to fifteen minutes.
