Steam Therapy

In the upmarket beauty clinics and parlour, hair spa is the new fad. It shows results but also burn a hole in your pocket! However, we still opt for it since some of those treatments are not possible at home. One of them is hair steaming. But there is a way of doing it at the comfort of your home. Steaming is done to open the hair follicles and pores on the scalp. This helps the hair absorb the oil or special applications on the scalp and encourages good hair growth by removing the blockages in the follicles.

Steam Therapy

At home, heat a pan of water until it starts to give out steam. Now immerse a thin cotton towel in the water and squeeze it out of the hot water with the help of large kitchen tongs. Spread open so that the initial very hot steam escapes. Now wrap it around your hair tightly in a way that your entire head is covered under this cloth. If it feels too hot on the scalp then remove immediately. Remember it is supposed to feel warm and not hot. The best results are obtained of you apply lots of oil on your scalp before this treatment.

Beer Bath

Beer is known to condition the hair better than most of the cosmetic off the shelf conditioners. It helps in conditioning the hair in two way- one, by cleaning the scalp thoroughly by washing away all kind of build up and second, by lending shine and volume to otherwise limp hair.

Beer Bath

Wash your hair with the regular shampoo. Thereafter, pour the beer on your hair so that it soaks the roots and entire length of the hair. Let it rest for 2-3 minutes. Then wash off with cool water. You can use the beer bath as many times you wash your hair and do not cringe at the beer washing down the drain!
