The study author, who is also a clinical lecturer in the London’s King’s College of restorative dentistry – Rebecca Moazzez says that the acid that builds up in the gut is cleared quickly by chewing gum. Due to the clearance of the acid the symptoms of GERD also improve.
Increase the intake of water, which will help in producing a kind of mucous barrier by the stomach. This barrier is not possible to create if the body suffers from dehydration. Therefore, make it a point to drink 1-2 glasses of water before every meal.
