Cold water is the best possible and cheap remedy ever used since years for scalp psoriasis. This helps to reduce the burning and the itching sensation. This also helps to remove the dead cells on the scalp and prevents the occurrence of dry scalp and dandruff. Another scientific basis is that cold water application contracts the superficial layer and constricts the internal layers.
This improves the internal blood circulation and so fresh blood with a good number of WBCs are pulled onto the affected area. All these occur in the action phase that is when the cold water is applied. After application, now the Blood cells which are pulled reach the surface and starts killing the foreign agents which are responsible for the rashes. Make a paste of pepper and cloves and apply directly to the scalp. Leave it for 5 to 10 minutes and then wash with cold running water. This effectively removes the patches, itching sensation and pain associated with it.
Vinegar is commonly used in cooking. It is available in all kitchens. As this has the astringent properties this can be very effective in the case of the scalp psoriasis. Vinegar mixed with warm water in the ratio of 1:3, should be taken. A towel should be dipped in this solution and wrapped on the head for about 30 minutes and then washed with cold water.
