4 List Of Acupressure Techniques
Using The Right And Left Hand
Stretch your hands and gently hold your left thumb between your right index finger and the thumb. Now apply pressure on the top area of this spot using your left thumb and below the spot using your left index finger.
Rest the remaining fingers below your right hand. You will experience a mild burning sensation when you apply pressure. It will go away after you release your fingers. You need to hold this position for 3 seconds and repeat with each hand. There is a rush of endorphins when pressure is applied that relieves the back pain.
Foot Acupressure Point
You need to lie down or sit straight. Try to hold your foot between your hands. This technique can be done with the assistance of a person also. Hold your foot and try to locate the junction of your big toe and second toe bones.
Rest your thumb just below this junction. Now you put your index finger below the same foot at its opposite point. Apply pressure for 1 minute. You need to keep breathing in and out thereby increasing the pressure slightly. Reduce the pressure and gently massage this area.
Acupressure Point At The Elbow
Place your elbow on an arm rest. You can begin with the side where you experience the maximum back pain. After this wrap your other hand towards the inside area of the elbow and press using your thumb in a motion moving toward the outer area of the arm.
You will then experience a slight ache or a twinge when you apply pressure here. If you feel that pain, you have reached the right acupressure energy point. Hold down this elbow point for a minute. You need to inhale deeply and then relax. You can increase the pressure if you like.
Acupressure Point At The Fore Arm
This technique will help in relieving severe back pain in the lower region. You need to locate the muscular band that is located on the side of your elbow crease.
Hold it firmly with your four fingers and let your thumb rest on this muscle cord. You can wiggle the middle finger of the arm which you might be holding. Apply pressure on the muscle band and you will find it popping up. Hold it for a couple of minutes and repeat on the other hand.
