Warm Water

Soaking your feet in some warm water will be very beneficial for softening the dead skin on the heels. Adding a little liquid soap or lemon juice with the warm water will help you scrub out the dead skin easily. Soak your feet for at least 15-20 minutes and scrub off all the peeling skin gently with a pumice stone. Do not rub hard. Wash and pat dry. Apply a good dollop of moisturizing lotion on your feet.

Fruits like banana and papaya can be used to treat cracked feet. Papaya has the natural enzyme papain that helps in making the rough skin smooth and peels off dead cells. Banana too is a good natural cure for cracked heels. Mash a ripe banana and some pieces of papaya.

Apply this mash on the feet and heels. Leave for 20 minutes and wash with cold or lukewarm water. You can even add half an avocado to this mixture. Essential Oils

Oatmeal Scrub

Scrubs work wonders when it comes to treating cracked heels. They help peel off the dead skin and let new cells take their place. To make a scrub, take a cup of oatmeal, add two tablespoons of honey, one tablespoon glycerine and one tablespoon rosewater.

Mix these well and apply the paste on your feet and heels. Leave for half an hour and gently rub the paste in circular movements to scrub away the dead skin. Do this at least 2 -3 times a day.


Paraffin Wax
