Though the condition does not have a complete cure and mostly goes away on its own, it can be an embarrassment while it lasts for people suffering from it.Thankfully a number of herbal treatment methods can be adopted in order to control the itching which sometimes comes with Pityriasis Rosea. The condition is luckily not painful. Here are some herbal ways to keep the discomfort and symptoms at bay.

For Strengthening Immune System

Every infection goes away on its own when the immunity is strengthened. It is the same with Pityriasis Rosea as well. For making the immune system strong, take one cup of oat tops, half a cup each of astragalus  root, burdock root and root of Echinacea and tops. Mix well.

Now take 2 ounces of the mixture in a pan and add one quart water to it. Allow it to simmer until the mixture reduces to one pint. Strain the entire mixture and again heat it while adding a cup of honey. Let the honey dissolve well with the infusion. Allow the infusion to cool and keep it stored in airtight glass containers. Take a teaspoon of the infusion every one hour for a day. From the next day onwards, take one teaspoon six times a day. Continue this until the infections is completely gone.

For The Itching Sensation

Sunlight

Exposing the infected skin to sunlight is known to stop the itching immediately. Spend under the sun for 10-15 minutes to subside the itch. Make sure that you are not in the sun during midday and hot afternoons.

Oatmeal Bath

Soaking yourself in an oatmeal bath too helps in soothing and healing of the skin and also in controlling the itching. Take one cup of oatmeal flour and add to a tub of warm water. Soak for 15-20 minutes. This can be done before you head to sleep to prevent itching during sleep.

Burdock Root

A mixture prepared from 2 parts of burdock root and one part each of valerian root and Echinacea can be used as a tincture. 3-4 drops of this tincture can be taken every two hours to keep the itching at bay.

To avoid this, take half a tablespoon of goldenseal, one tablespoon of calendula powder, one teaspoon of comfrey root powder and an once of green clay. Hi Carla. I got good results from a lotion called “Eucerin” for eczema relief. I also tried to keep my skin clean, cool, and dry. Once I was all healed up I tried to get a bit of sun often. The spots are still there but nothing too noticeable, i guess. Good luck!
