How To Treat Herpes In 5 Effective Ways

Herpes caused by the virus herpes simplex virus can affect various parts of the body. Oral herpes affects the mouth or face causing cold sores. Genital herpes is a genital sexually transmitted disease and affects the genital areas. There are other forms of herpes too which affect the skin, eyes and other parts. There are two major forms of herpes simplex virus and spreads through direct contact.

The most common symptoms are getting sores and blisters in the affected areas, which become painful and itchy. The outbreaks can initially be several times in a year, which gradually reduces over time. The blisters and ulcers due to this disease disturb the lifestyle of the patients. Improved Diet

A person affected by herpes should start having food of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, iron, minerals and zinc. You must include fresh fruits and green vegetables in your daily diet. These will help in improving the immunity and give strength to fight the virus.

You must not consume alcohol, smoking, junk foods and spicy food for faster cure. As a preventive measure, a rich a wholesome diet is an important pre-requisite for prevention of herpes

Olive Oil

Olive oil helps in reducing the pain caused by the sores in herpes. You can take a cup of full olive oil and add some bee wax and lavender and cook this on medium flame in a pot.

When it comes to a boil, turn off the flame and cool the mixture. Apply this on the affected area in order to contain the outbreak.

Bathe With Baking Soda

It is very important to remain hygienic when you are affected by the herpes virus. Take a warm bath by adding baking soda in the water.

At least 15-20 minutes of warm bath of baking soda water will help reduce the problem of itching on the genital surface and reduce the pain of the blisters and ulcers as well. You will also feel good and refreshed after a bath in baking soda water.

Ice Pack

For relief from swelling and pain, an ice pack works wonders. Take some ice in a cotton cloth and tie it up. Give a light hand massage on the affected area by pressing gently. The ice pack will also help reducing the swelling around the areas. Using the ice pack atleast three times a day gives considerable relief to the patient.

Propolis Ointment

Propolis is a waxy substance that can be used as an ointment to apply it on genital areas in the case of genital herpes. This ointment relieves the pain and intensity of the outbreak.

Although it is available at chemist shops, you must consult your doctor before using it, as the advice may vary from one case to another.

The herpes outbreak can be happen in men and women both. Treating the symptoms of herpes using natural ways is better and more effective with no side effects. Consult a doctor in case the symptoms worsen and you do not get relief from the above measures.
