Warts can occur anywhere on your body but they are particularly annoying and excruciatingly painful if they occur on your feet. They may press, rub, cause friction and hinder your mobility to move around with ease.
Warts are caused by the HPV (Human Pappiloma Virus) and there are almost 60 varieties of warts that occur on the body. It is contagious and is normally spread from skin to skin contact. They are flat, rounded and are usually grey or brown in colour. Some specific home remedies can target warts on the feet and prevent their occurrence.
Best Home Remedies For Warts On Feet
Sticking Tape
One of the oldest remedies for treating warts is the use of sticking tape. You will need to bandage the wart with 4-5 layers of sticking tape. The tape should be snug but not so tight that it cuts off your blood supply. Leave the tapes on your wart for about 6.5 days. At the end of the 6th day, open up the tapes and expose the wart to air for half a day. Repeat the procedure again for 3-4 weeks. By the end of the 4th week, the wart would have subsided.
Oil Of Oregano
Application of a thick layer or oil of oregano on the foot wart is effective. Apply the oil and then cover the wart with a thick tape. Repeat the treatment every time you remove the tape or the adhesive from the wart.
Wait it out
Foot warts are self limiting i.e. they disappear on their own after a few weeks. If you are partially sedentary, it makes sense to simply wait it out and allow it to fall off and heal on its own. People who are heavily into contact sports may find the wart affecting their mobility and may have to take proactive measures.
Banana Peel
The peel of a banana is said to be effective against foot warts. Take the peel of a fresh banana and tape it to your wart with the inside skin of the peel facing the wart. Bananas work slowly so it will take at least 3 weeks for results to show.

Castor Oil
Castor oil is helpful as it makes the wart pop open and leaves a wound behind. The oil needs to be applied at least 3-4 times a day. You will experience slight bleeding and the appearance of a superficial scar once the wart completely falls off. The scars can be treated with lacto calamine.
Turmeric
Try to get enough turmeric in your diet. While it may not directly affect the warts, it does reduce the episodes of warts and promotes faster healing as your body fights off the viral infection.
Freezing water
Place your feet in ice cold water for 10-15 minutes. You will need guts of steel to do this as ice can be potentially annoying and painful. Ice cold water kills the virus, makes it unviable and the warts become pliable enough to be scraped off with a pumice stone. This remedy is worth trying if you want faster results as it allows the warts to fall off.
