Baking Soda

Baking soda a common ingredient found in every kitchen has great medicinal values. It is especially very good for all types of skin infections. It has the ability to draw out the infection and dry up the oozing fluids. Its alkalinity provides instant relief in the itching and as a result the burning subsides automatically.

Mix two teaspoons of baking soda with a little water to form a paste. Smear the paste all over the affected areas. Coat the blisters with it properly and leave it to dry. Apply a fresh coat as soon as the previous one starts to come off.

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt has huge amounts of magnesium and sulfate. Magnesium has a cleansing effect on the virus and it also provides immense relief in the itching. Sulfate helps to flush out all the toxins from the body and boosts immunity. Both these substances are easily absorbed by the skin and released into the bloodstream.

Fill your bath tub with warm water and stir in one cup of Epsom salts into it. Soak your whole body for half an hour. Use this soak two or three times daily.

Boric Acid

Boric acid has potent cleansing and antiseptic properties. It also has the ability to destroy microbes and effect quick healing. To treat herpes the foremost requirement is to keep the sores and blisters and the surrounding areas absolutely clean. Take a basin and fill it with hot water.

Mix two teaspoons of boric acid with the water. Then take a wad of cotton and dip it into the solution. Squeeze out the excess water and apply the wad to the sores and blisters. Keep doing this for fifteen minutes. You will find your itching has reduced considerably.

Cornstarch

Sprinkle some cornstarch onto a cotton ball and dab the cornstarch all over the blisters to dry them out. The cooling effect of cornstarch will also alleviate the itching and pain.

Black Tea

The tannins found in black tea have the ability to draw out the infection and drain the fluid from the blisters. Place a wet tea bag directly on the sores. Apply three times regularly.
