These unattractive spots are formed as a result of overproduction of melanocytes in skin but the good news is that they can be faded and their further production can be retarded. In fact you can fight age spots with some simple ingredients that can be easily found in your kitchen shelves. Here are some homemade face packs that will help you take the charge and give you the liberty to look good without spending much:

1. Sandalwood And Lemon Juice Face Pack

Sandalwood is an age-old remedy used for reducing hyperpigmentation. Combined with lemon juice which is an excellent natural bleaching agent, this face pack will help you see visible results if used regularly for a few weeks.

Ingredients:

Sandalwood powder: 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice: 2 tsp
Glycerin: ½ tbsp

Directions:

Make a smooth paste by mixing all the ingredients in a bowl. Apply on cleaned face with help of a brush. Allow it to dry. Wash with cool water. Follow with a moisturizer. Alternatively you can mix a few drops of sandalwood essential oil with olive oil and apply on the spots overnight.

2. Honey And Apple Cider Vinegar Face Mask

Alpha-hydroxy-acids rich apple cider vinegar can help you lighten these unsightly dark brown spots by naturally peeling the dead skin and revealing fresh glowing skin from beneath.

Ingredients:

Apple Cider Vinegar: ¾ tbsp
Organic Honey: 1 tbsp
Rose Water: 2 tsp

Directions:

To use ACV honey mask as a remedy for age-spots, simply mix all the ingredients in a small glass bowl and apply on clean face. After 20 minutes wash with lukewarm water and follow with a toner. Use this remedy daily, twice for six weeks to see the best results.

3. Tahini And Chickpeas Face Mask

Tahini or sesame seeds paste contains zinc and other antioxidants that can fade away these dark spots and renew skin. Chickpeas flour is also commonly used to whiten skin, exfoliate and moisturize it.

Ingredients:

Chickpeas flour: 1 tbsp
Tahini: 1 tbsp
Yogurt: ½ tbsp

Directions:

Mix Tahini, yogurt and chickpeas flour to form a thick paste. Apply on face and allow it to dry. Rinse with lukewarm water. Follow with a toner and moisturizer.

4. Potato, Lemon & Honey Face Mask

Known as an effective remedy for skin discoloration and age spots, Potato juice mixed with lemon juice and honey make an excellent face pack.

Ingredients:

Medium sized potato: 1
Organic honey: 1 tbsp
Lemon Juice: 1 tsp

Directions:

Peel and grate one medium sized potato. Strain through a muslin cloth to take out the juice. Now mix potato juice, lemon juice and honey in a bowl. Apply on face. Rinse after 30 minutes.

5. Red Currants And Honey Face Pack

Packed with skin healing properties and antioxidants, this face pack can effectively eliminate age spots and also protect the skin from harmful UV rays that make age-spots even worse.

Ingredients:

Unripe red currants: ¾ cup
Honey: 1 tbsp
Lemon juice: 1 tsp

Directions:

Mash red currants in a bowl and add lemon juice and honey. Mix to form a smooth paste. Apply all over the face and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Rinse with cool water. You can follow up with a toner made of rose water. Use this recipe twice a week for a minimum of six weeks to see visible results.
