Share

Diaper rash is something that all parents have to deal with. You want your baby to get rid of it as fast as possible as it makes your little one uncomfortable and you don’t want to see your baby suffer. Several creams for diaper rash are available in the market and you wonder if it is safe enough for the delicate skin of your child. When in doubt it is always better to look out for other options. The best option in this case would be to make diaper rash salve at home so that you can give the best and safest treatment to your little one.

Mentioned Below Are Two Recipes Of Making Diaper Rash Salve At Home:

1. Recipe Using Coconut Oil, Beeswax And Zinc Oxide:

Coconut is a natural antimicrobial agent and helps keep infections away. It also helps in moisturizing the skin. Beeswax helps in giving that creamy texture to your salve. Zinc oxide has antibacterial properties and also has important antioxidants and it also protects the skin against wetness.

Ingredients:

Half cup of coconut oil, one tablespoon of beeswax pastilles and ¾ th tablespoon of zinc oxide

Procedure:

Mix the coconut oil and beeswax pastilles in a container. Take a huge container and pour water in it and heat it. When the water starts boiling place the container containing the coconut oil and beeswax mixture in the boiling water. Let the mixture melt completely. Keep stirring the mixture continuously. Once the coconut oil and beeswax pastilles have melted completely take it off from the boiling water. Add the zinc oxide and stir well. Pour the mixture in a container and let it cool completely. Place the lid and store the salve. You can use it as and when required for diaper rash. This homemade diaper rash salve has a shelf life of almost three months.

2. Recipe Using Chamomile, Calendula, Lavender Herbs And Olive Oil:

If you want to make diaper rash salve without any zinc oxide and using only natural ingredients then this is the recipe for you. The dried herbs (chamomile, calendula and lavender) are gentle on the skin and have healing properties. Olive oil moisturizes the skin and it too has healing properties and helps in curing diaper rash.

Ingredients:

One tablespoon each of the dried herbs (that is calendula, chamomile and lavender), 6 tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of beeswax.

Procedure:

Take the dried herbs and the olive oil in a container and mix well. Take a huge container and pour water in it and heat it (double boiler). When the water starts boiling place the container containing the herbs and the oil in it. Keep it in the double boiler for few minutes. Now remove the container and let the mixture stand overnight so that the herbs get infused in the olive oil. Strain the oil in the morning using a thin cotton cloth. Keep the oil and throw the herbs. To the oil add the beeswax pastilles and place the container containing this mixture on the double boiler. Let the mixture melt completely. Keep stirring the mixture. Now remove the mixture from the double boiler and pour it into a jar and let the mixture cool completely. Your all natural diaper rash salve is ready to use.

Prepare diaper rash salve for your babies at home using any of these simple recipes. It is effective as well as safe for your baby’s delicate skin.
