Make a habit to look after your feet regularly, before going to bed. Cleansing and scrubbing of feet in warm, soapy water will brush off the dead skin cells, keeping them soft, smooth and breathable. One can use oatmeal as foot scrubber by making a homemade paste of jojoba oil and one spoonful of oatmeal.
Apply the prepared paste to callused and heel areas and keep it for half an hour, then wash off with cold water and pat dry. Jojoba and oatmeal have rich moisturizing abilities that make them a good scrubber and help to retains moisture within the feet, if used on every alternate day.
Apply Heavy Moisturizer
Dryness of the feet needs to be cured by applying a heavy load of moisturizer on feet, especially the heel area that undertake the whole load, while moving around. and cover the feet with warm socks to keep the moisture locked in for long hours. Regular moisturizing will keep away the dryness and the cause of cracking feet.
Make use of ripe banana, the most effective natural solution for cracked feet or heels. Mashed one to two ripe bananas and mix it with equal portions of lemon juice and honey. Alternatively, mix lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in warm water and then soak cracked feet for ten minutes. Then scrub the feet with a pumice stone and wash later. Pat dry feet and apply some glycerin over it and keep them covered. Following this remedy for a week will completely cure feet from dryness and crack formation.
Application of virgin olive oil over the feet with a cotton ball and massaging gently in a circular motion for ten minutes helps in healing the cracked feet.
Olive oil can also be used for making a cracked heel cream, by mixing one spoonful of olive oil, little drops of lavender or lemon oil and the same amount of water. A thick solution of milky white is obtained, which need to be applied as foot cream for 2 to 3 times in a day.
Heat paraffin wax with some coconut or mustard oil to form a paste and then apply it after scrubbing the feet, before bed time.
Cover feet with socks and wash the next morning. This remedy when used for a week, will offer relief from painful cracks of the feet. In absence of paraffin wax, melted wax from a candle can also be used for making the paste.
