Diverticulitis is a disease of the large intestines. When the muscles in the colon wall become weak, small pouches which look like bubbles develop on the outer layer of the colon. Isabgol
Isabgol is commonly used in India for all types of gastrointestinal disorders. It has a double action; that of a laxative and of curing diarrhea. This odorless and tasteless husk is high in mucilage content which stimulates bowel movement and clears the colon by expelling the accumulated feces.
As soon as isabgol is ingested it absorbs water and increases tenfold in volume providing bulk and fibre necessary for bowel elimination. Take two tablespoons of the husk with hot milk in the morning and at night before going to bed.
Daily use will help clear the colon of the entire encrusted stool, promote healthy intestinal bacteria and relieve pain. If you want to stop the diarrhea same quantity of isabgol should be taken either with water or curd.
Fenugreek Seeds
Fenugreek seeds have many medicinal uses and are a common spice found in every home. They are rich in fibre, essential vitamins and minerals. They soothe the inflamed mucous membrane and provide a protective coating. They are considered as great cleansers and toxin eliminators.

Dried Figs

Dates known as the fruit of the dessert are not only delicious to eat but possess many health giving benefits and medicinal uses. They are rich in fibre, minerals and vitamins and relieve fever and diarrhea.
The tannins present in them combat inflammation and infection. Regular use of dates will clear constipation as well as diarrhea and bring tremendous relief.
Peppermint Tea
Peppermint tea has very strong anti-inflammatory properties which relieve abdominal pain by soothing the lining of the colon. It helps in maintaining colon health. Drink two cups of peppermint tea daily.
