7 Effective Home Remedies To Get Rid Of Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is a common problem that usually targets kids and youngsters because usually their mouth remains dehydrated. Many times, dry mouth also aroused due to reduction in the flow of saliva from salivary glands or change in saliva composition. Sometimes, dry mouth caused due to autoimmune diseases, damaging of nerves, diabetes and side effects of any pain relieving medicine. Common symptoms of dry mouth includes stress, depression, anxiety, dehydration which becomes complex if they’re neglected by its victim. Therefore, it is very necessary to take proper action against its symptoms so that it may not became a complicated disease for you. Here are some effective home remedies to get rid of dry mouth that will disappear its symptoms if you’ll follow the remedies properly

1. Drink More Fluids:

Drinking of fluids like water, watery fruits juice and coconut water will ease your discomfort of dry mouth as they’ll keep your mouth as well as your body hydrated for a long time. You must drink 8-10 glasses of water daily from morning time to your sleeping time. Apart from drinking water, you must also include drinking of water based fruit juices and 1-2 glasses of coconut water daily as it will produce more saliva from your salivary gland. You can also consume watery fruits like watermelon and cucumber along with your meal to remove dehydration from your body completely within a month.

2. Drink Aloe Vera Juice:

Aloe Vera is blessed with amazing anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and antiseptic properties that offers many health benefits to its consumer. You can use it for removing dry mouth problem by drinking ¼ cup of its juice at least 2 times a day as it will stimulate your salivary gland and will also make your taste bud active. Alternatively, you can also rinse your mouth using its gel 2-3 times a day so as to ease your discomfort associated with dry mouth.

3. Intake Fennel Seeds:

Fennel seeds are also very effective in stimulating the flow of saliva through salivary glands thereby removing dry mouth problem due to the presence of active compound called ‘flavonoids’ in it. In fact, fennel seeds are amazing antioxidants that can also aid in removing the bad breath problem with its aromatic flavor. You only need to intake ½ teaspoons of fennel seeds 2-3 times a day followed by drinking a glass of water. You can also consume roasted mixture of equal quantity of fennel and fenugreek seeds after each meal so as to stimulate your salivary glands for producing more saliva.

4. Drink Lemon Juice:

Lemon juice also works well in relieving discomforts of dry mouth and bad breath problem by stimulating eh salivary gland. You only need to drink lemon juice prepared by mixing juice of a small lemon and a few drops of honey in 1 glass of water so as to keep your body moisturized for whole day. Lemon richness in Vitamin C and presence of citric acid in it enhances the taste buds by detoxifying your body.

5. Consume Cayenne Pepper:

Cayenne pepper is very helpful in regulating the saliva production thereby removing the dryness factor of your mouth comfortably. Cayenne pepper is also very helpful in differentiating different types of taste flavors like sweet taste, sour taste, bitter and salty flavors. You only needs to rub a pinch of cayenne pepper with a wet finger on your tongue as it will enable your salivary glands to produce more and salivary thereby making you free from dry mouth. You can also intake cayenne pepper by adding its powder to your salad or soup for receiving such benefits.

6. Try Oil Pulling:

Oil pulling is an effective and ancient remedy to remove dryness factor from mouth and giving extra moisture to dry mouth. You can use any edible oil like sesame oil or coconut oil in oil pulling as all of them works properly in formation of extra saliva from salivary glands. You only need to swish your mouth with 1 tbsp of any edible oil for 10 minutes followed by rinsing your mouth using warm water before brushing your teeth in the morning. Repeating this remedy for a month will definitely remove dry mouth problem permanently.

7. Use Slippery Elm:

Slippery elm and water mixture is an effective remedy for dry mouth as slippery elm is rich in a compound ‘mucilage’ that on combination with water forms a slick gel for removing dry mouth issue. You only need to apply this prepared slick gel on your tongue 3-4 times a day to ease your discomfort related with dry mouth. You can also drink tea prepared by mixing 1-2 tbsp of slippery elm in a cup of hot water followed by adding a few drops of honey when the solution gets strained. Slippery elm in all forms soothes the throat and stimulates the salivary glands perfectly.
