5 Natural Foot Scrubs To Soothe Your Feet

The feet are one of the most tortured parts of the body. You are standing and running and exercising while the poor feet bear your weight. What is worse that they are further tormented by wearing heels and wrong kind of shoes. And the least you can do is ensure that at the end of the day you give them a cream or oil massage. But that is also rare and as a result of this wear and tear, you get dead skin.

Stubborn skin around the feet is a problem because it leads to cones, cracking and pain in the foot. And since frequent pedicures are not possible for everyone.

Here Are Some Natural Scrubs You Can Try At Home To Keep Dead Skin At Bay-

Peppermint Scrub

This is not only a great scrub for putting your dry skin woes at bay, but also takes care of smelly feet, which are a problem with many individuals at the end of the day. For this scrub you need a few drops of essential peppermint oil. To this add about a cup of granulated sugar (you can use either white or brown) and a few spoons of olive oil. Mix it well and then use it to scrub away the foot gently. With regular use, dead skin is scraped off and fresh, soft layers of skin are visible.

Coconut Oil With Sea Salt

Sea salt is one of the best scrubs available for any kind of stubborn dead skin layers. Basically it has natural granulated texture, which helps in gently scraping the layers of the cracked skin. It also heals the foot and prevents infections. A few spoons of coconut oil are suggested to be added to the scrub because as you massage the foot, the oil adds nourishment and helps in healing open wounds. The coconut oil has ingredients that act as a natural deodorant, which in turn prevents stinky feet too.

Lemon And Rice Flour

Rice flour is easily available in the market but if you want something that is more grainy then you can make a coarser mixture at home by churning the rice in a mixer or blender. To this rice, you need to add the juice of about one lemon. The scrub works well for getting rid of dead skin because the pH balance in the lemon juice helps in healing dry skin while ensuring that the skin is softened, rice flour on the other hand works as the scrubber. It promotes rejuvenation of the skin layers while adding a wonderful fragrance.

Almond And Apricot Scrub

Like the face, almond and apricots work very well for the feet too. For those who tend to get cracked heels often, this scrub heals and repairs. You need to take equal amounts of pureed apricots along with almond meal or pureed almonds. Then add some milk to the mixture to get a coarse paste. Now scrub the foot while massaging gently. Let the mixture stay for a while as it nourishes and softens the skin. Then scrub again and wash it off.

Coffee And Oatmeal Scrub

Oatmeal and coffee may seem like a strange combination but coffee bean, when turned into a course mixture provide to be a fantastic scrub for stubborn dead skin. For this scrub take freshly but coarsely grounded coffee (about 4 spoons) and add ground oatmeal to it. If you want, sea salt an be added to the mixture. Then add any essential oil of your choice along with some almond oil. Mix all the ingredients together and massage the feet gently using generous portions. Keep adding water when the mixture turns dry.

Repeat any of these scrubs at least thrice a week for best results.
