Asthma is a disease of the respiratory tract which carries the air to and from the lungs. The mucous membranes inside the airways become inflamed and swollen and hinder the free passage of air. The airways become narrower due to swelling and allow very little air to pass through them causing wheezing, shortness of breath, tightness in chest, coughing and breathing problems. The air passages also become extremely sensitive to any irritation caused by foreign particles which further aggravates the condition.
These symptoms are more dominant in the night and early morning. Asthma attacks come suddenly and the symptoms are more severe than usual. The attacks can be mild, moderate or severe. During the attack the muscles around the airways tighten up and further narrow the airways. Very little air is able to flow through the airways and the inflammation increases the production of mucus which further constricts the airflow. In some asthma attacks the oxygen is unable to reach the lungs. This prevents oxygen from entering the bloodstream and being carried to the vital organs of the body.
Best Ways To Get Rid Of Asthma
Cloves And Honey
Asthma is mainly caused by allergic reactions triggered by antibodies in the blood which lead to the inflammation of the airways. Cloves have powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which decrease the inflammation and swelling and allow the free passage of air to and from the lungs.
Crush five cloves and add them to a glass of boiling water. Continue boiling on a low heat for two minutes then turn off the heat. After ten minutes, strain the decoction and two teaspoons of honey to it. Drink this tea twice daily. Honey will soothe the irritated air passages and help to dissolve the mucus.
At the onset, an asthma attack allows enough air to reach the lungs but it does not let the carbon dioxide leave the leave the lungs fast enough. This leads to less and less air reaching the blood stream which increases the discomfort tremendously.
Boil three or four crushed cloves of garlic in half a cup of milk for two minutes. Consume this mixture regularly to get rid of asthma. Garlic will decongest the airways very quickly.
Ginger And Black Pepper
Boil a glass of water and add one grated teaspoon of ginger to it. Add five to six crushed peppercorns and continue boiling on a low heat for three minutes.
Strain the tea and mix one teaspoon of raw honey with it. Drink this tea three times regularly. Ginger and black pepper will flush out all the toxins from lungs and the respiratory tract.
Eat four or five dried figs twice a day. Figs not only strengthen the lungs but also help to reduce the production of mucus and to eliminate it from of the respiratory tract.
Boil one teaspoon of fenugreek seeds in a glass of water for a few minutes. Cover the pan and after ten minutes strain the tea. Add one teaspoon of ginger juice to it and drink this tea twice daily. Fenugreek will detoxify and decongest the lungs promptly.
