Potato has bleaching properties and it effectively reduces dark circles. Grate a potato and squeeze out the juice by passing it through a strainer. Apply the juice with the help of a cotton ball around your eyes and lie down for 10- 15minutes. Wash gently with normal water and apply a light moisturiser to prevent dryness in the area.
Cut thin slices of potato and chill them in the refrigerator. Put the slices on your eyes and relax in a dimly lit room. Remove after 15 minutes and wipe the eyes with a wet sponge. This treatment will refresh the eyes and will reduce dark circles if it is followed regularly.
Tomato helps to remove tan and it lightens the skin tone. Mix 1 table spoon of tomato juice with a few drops of lemon juice and apply around the eyes. Remove after 15 minutes with a wet cotton ball.
Cucumber is a natural astringent and helps to reduce dark circles. Grate cucumber and squeeze out the juice. Mix ½ teaspoon honey in it and apply around the eyes for 15 minutes. Honey is a natural moisturiser and helps to keep the area moist and healthy.
Almonds have a high content of vitamin E. Massage your eyes with almond oil at night to stimulate blood circulation. It is an effective remedy to reduce and even remove dark circles. Mint and Rose Water
Mix mint juice and rose water in equal quantity and apply around the eyes with a cotton ball. Wash with normal water after 15 minutes. Rose water is a natural toner and it helps to keep the under eye skin firm, mint removes skin pigmentation and helps to reduce dark circles.
Fennel seeds have a cooling effect on the eyes. Fennel water is easily available in the market. Dab two balls of cotton in this water and chill it in the fridge. Place the swabs on your eyes for 10 minutes. You can repeat the treatment twice a day. You will notice the difference in 15 days.
