Fenugreek

Fenugreek is an excellent body cleanser. It is an effective home remedy for pigmentation. The leaves of fresh fenugreek have a cooling effect. They help to improve skin tone and lighten dark spots on the skin.

Make a smooth paste with fresh fenugreek leaves. Apply it on your face and leave it on for 20 minutes. Afterwards wash it off with normal water. Do it every night to reduce pigmentation.

Potato

Potato has bleaching properties. It lightens the skin tone and reduces pigmentation effectively. Grate one medium size potato, squeeze out the juice and apply the juice on dark spots. Leave it on for 15 minutes; wash it off with cold water. You can also rub a potato slice directly on the face to treat pigmentation.

Cucumber

Cucumber has astringent and cooling properties. It helps to deep cleanse the skin and make it smooth and fairer.
Take one tea spoon grated cucumber, add one tea spoon tomato juice and one tea spoon lemon juice and mix well. Chill the mixture and apply it on your face for 15 minutes. Afterwards wash it off with water.

Mint is a cooling agent and it has immense skin cleansing properties. The mint content in fresh mint leaves helps to reduce and lighten pigmentation and brown spots on the skin. Grind a handful of fresh mint leaves to make a smooth paste. Apply it on your face for 20 minutes. Wash it off with cool water.

Extract the juice of fresh mint leaves, add honey and mix well. Apply the paste on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with normal water. You can store this mixture in the fridge for 3-4 days.

Sandalwood gives an instant glow to the skin. It is used in skin care products to treat various types of skin ailments especially pigmentation. Mix 4-5 drops of sandalwood essential oil in ½ tea spoon mustard oil. Blend well and apply it on the face with your finger tips. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

You can make sandalwood face mask and use it at least once a week to reduce pigmentation. Take ¼ cup sandalwood powder, 1 tea spoon corn starch and a pinch of turmeric powder. Make a paste with milk and apply it on your face for 20 minutes. Wash it off with normal water. Afterwards apply rose water on your face for toning.

Arjuna is an extremely useful herb to treat various diseases. It has astringent properties which help to treat skin disorders. For pigmentation; take 1 tea spoon Arjuna bark powder, add honey to make a smooth paste. Apply the paste on affected areas and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash it off with normal water. Regular use of this paste will visibly reduce pigmentation.
