5 Home Remedies For Back Spasms

Back Spasms

When a muscle contracts abnormally and spontaneously, it goes into a spasm. If the contraction occurs in the back, near the spinal cord or the nerve roots then it causes unbearable pain. Initially, the sufferer feels a swift and unexpected pain in the lower back during movements such as pushing, twisting or pulling and it may be possible to continue these movements for a little more time.

But soon the overstretched muscles start bleeding and they begin to tear together with the tendons. Back spasms usually occur when the muscles in the back are swollen and inflamed. Any exertion can easily tear the muscles and the tendons.

Sports that require a lot of pushing or lifting or sudden twisting of the back can overstretch and overstrain the muscles and lead to back spasms. Disk ruptures, arthritis, weak stomach muscles, inflexible muscles along the spine and back weakness can also contribute to back spasms.
