Remedies For Earache

Earache is a pretty common problem which can affect children as well as adults. When the internal structures of the ear like the ear drum, middle ear and the external auditory canal get inflamed it results in earache. When bathing or swimming, the moisture gets trapped in the ear canal and it causes pain and swelling.

The moisture also provides a perfect breeding ground for bacteria which thrive in moist, warm environment and cause infection. Often while cleaning the ear with cotton tipped swab or any other object the skin in the ear canal gets abraded or injured and this too can result in pain.

Other common causes for earache are a severe common cold, blockage in the nasal passage, smoke exposure and genetics. The pain develops gradually and increases in intensity. There can be a thick drainage from the ear, a blocked sensation, buzzing sounds in the ear and itching.
